On July 21st, 2025, Edwin O. Wogah, representative of MERU University (Nigeria, Nairobi), visited the University of Nyíregyháza. The staff of the International Relations Office discussed future cooperation opportunities with the guest, who was welcomed by Dr. Zoltán Kovács, Vice President for International Relations and Innovation.

Leaders of higher education institutions in the Danube region gathered in Bucharest from June 25 to 27, 2025, at the DanubE+ Cooperation international conference to strengthen regional cooperation and lay the foundations for new joint Erasmus+ projects.

Cobbled streets, riverside stretches and a World Heritage background - five foreign students and one of the University of Nyíregyháza's staff members from the International Relations Office completed the night race in the special atmosphere of Tokaj. The sporting event was not only for the pleasure of movement, but also to strengthen the community experience.
 

Student of the Year - An International Student of the University of Nyíregyháza Received Prestigious Recognition

Omar Abu Samhoud, a senior computer science student of the University of Nyíregyháza, stood out among the international students studying in Hungary not only for his academic achievements, but also for his community involvement. In May, he received the “Student of the Year 2025” award from the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Hungary in Budapest.
 
Omar came to the University of Nyíregyháza as a scholarship holder in 2021. Since then, he has enjoyed academic success, mentoring, awards and internships.

CEEPUS Network Receives International Acclaim: Our University Celebrates a Shared Success

In May 2025, the CEEPUS Ministerial Conference was held in Budapest, Hungary, not only as a strategic forum for higher education cooperation in Central Europe, but also as a celebration of achievements. At the evening reception, Richárd Bodrogi, Director General of the Tempus Public Foundation, welcomed the participants and Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation, and Michael Schedl, Secretary General of the CEEPUS Central Office, presented the CEEPUS Ministerial Awards to the two most outstanding networks for the academic years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024.
