Research objectives:
Optimization of production parameters of additive manufacturing methods for dimension accuracy, mechanical material parameters or structure, based on experimental and numerical investigation.

Description and results of research:
Previous research results demonstrated for PolyJet technology how anisotropy of additive manufacturing technology influence size and shape accuracy of workpieces. Impact energy absorption of standard specimen was measured in case of different manufacturing orientation.
In case of fused deposition method layer thickness of parts fabricated by an extrusion method was studied.

Our team is involved in a consortial research project of 2 industrial company and 2 university. Objective of this project is to study osteosynthesis of medical implants with trabecular structure manufactured by metal additive manufacturing methods, especially selective laser melting (SLM). Our task is experimental investigation of manufactured parts and numerical analysis of possible solutions.
