The cooperation between the University of Nyíregyháza and Chongqing Industry Polytechnic University in China, which began in 2022, has entered a new phase. Confirming their previous agreement, the two institutions signed a contract on August 26, 2025, setting out further details of the joint program.
The aim of the cooperation is to enable Chinese students to continue their studies in Nyíregyháza after completing a basic program in the field of computer science at Chongqing University, where they can obtain a degree after two semesters. The newly signed document specifies, among other things, the subjects that must be completed at the University of Nyíregyháza and sets out which subjects will be recognized as credits by the Hungarian institution based on the qualification obtained.
The program, whose participants will later be able to continue their studies at the Nyíregyháza campus, will start in China in September this year. Chongqing Industry Polytechnic University is primarily recognized in the fields of computer science, architecture, electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and management sciences, and is ranked among the top 200 institutions in the 2024 World University Academic Rankings.
