On the 20th of November 2023, the SH Welcome Event and Award Ceremony for the Stipendium Hungaricum Student Excellence Award was held in Budapest. The event started with a warm welcome by Miklós Lengyel, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He greeted the new scholars and congratulated them together with Gábor Dobos, Director of Study in Hungary of the Tempus Public Foundation.
Sheriff Kamara was awarded the Excellence Award in English and Romeu Pereira Ernesto was awarded the Excellence Award in Hungarian. The awards were given in recognition of their academic achievements. They have contributed to the development of the international community at the University of Nyíregyháza.
The inspiring award ceremony was followed by an engaging intercultural workshop. During this workshop, students from the universities introduced themselves and shared fun facts about their respective countries of origin. Hungarian folk dance performances further enriched the students' experience.
The ceremony provided a platform for scholars to connect with each other and build networks for future collaborations.
