Research area and keywords of research:
Solar cooling
(solar energy utilization, conditioning, cooling, environmental protection, heat exchanger)
Name of the researcher(s) and research group:
- Dr. Attila Szilágyi PhD, assistant professor
Name of the Institute:
University of Nyíregyháza, Institute of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences, Department of Vehicle and Agricultural Engineering
Research objectives:
The main parts of research theme are solar energy utilization and air conditioning (especially cooling in evironmental friendly way).
Description and results of research:
It has been determined the form of usable heat energy from secondary side of heat exchanger from solar vacuum tube collector, which is the following function (A=60 Wm-6s2, n=2, C=9 sm-3, R=0.7). These results are valid at the 800-1000 W/m2 solar radiation range.
It has been investigated an alternative cooling technology’s method. According to measurements it has been determined that the cooling effect is depending on the size range of bottles (evaporation and heat losses in building). Bottle’s neck has to be between 16 and 30 mm diameter. If the outside air temperature reaches 30 ºC, the change of pressure start an air flow.
It has been examined the heat losses of porous pots filled water as working fluid. It was determined the minimal temperature with the following evaporation mass flow rate:
1062-1234 g/h: T(t) = 0.000003 t2 + 0.0163 t + 36.791. It has been established that the evaporation cooling with porous materials is applicable for air-conditioning, because the difference of temperature is between 8-10 ºC, which is optimal for human body.
