Research area and keywords of research:
Analytical chemistry
(Keywords: complex formation, cyclodextrins, pharmaceutical technology)

Name of the researcher(s) and research group:

  • Dr. Zita Szólláth-Sebestyén

Name of the Institute:
University of Nyíregyháza, Institute of Environmental Science

Research objectives:
We study the characteristics of cyclodextrins in particular complex forming properties. We are looking for active ingredients of extractions of plants and trying to improve its solubility.

Description and results of research:
I studied complex formation of ionic and unsubstituted cyclodextrins with different guest molecules as part of basic research of coordination chemistry.
I participated in applied researches in technology of pharmaceutics for the purpose of varied use of cyclodextrins (e. g.: in situ gelling eye drops, solubility enhancement, liposome-cyclodextrin systems)
I have gained experience in NMR-analysis and different separation techniques (mainly HPLC and HPLC-MS).
I participated in a generic drug development.
